形態特徵

• Rhizome robust, without stolon, ascending to short creeping. Culms solitary to loosely tufted, 40-150 cm tall, to 8 mm thick, trigonous, smooth, few-nodose, leaved and clothed with sheaths on lower 2/3.
• Leaves rather many; blades, 6-12 mm wide, scabrous; sheaths elongated.
• Inflorescence consisting of 3 or 4 dense compound partial panicles, those often spaced and 4-10 by 2-4 cm. Bracts leafy, rather long, sheath 3 to 5 cm long. Peduncles exserted, bearing 8 to 15 branches on which over 10 spikes are apically disposed. Spikes arising from empty 2-keeled prophyll, androgynous, oblong to ovate or elliptic, 5-10 mm long, pistillate part subdensely bearing 5-12 flowers.
• Pistillate glumes broadly elliptic to ovate, 2.5-3.5 mm long, contracted at mucronate apex, finely several-nerved, pale yellow with brownish flecks and green costa. Utricles longer than glume, more or less patent, ovate to narrowly so, 3.5-4 mm long, obtusely trigonous, inflated, several-nerved, whitish to green, generally glabrous, beak ca. 1.5 mm, scabrous, bidentate. Achenes loosely inclosed, ovate to fusiform, trigonous, ca. 2 mm long; stigmas 3.

• 台灣 : 100-2,200 m, common.
• 世界 : India, the Himalaya, southern China, the Ryukyus, southeastern Asia and Australia.
